28 INT. BEACH HOUSE KITCHEN - DAY

Joe is there with Dale, Pam, Rob and Kristen. He fits right in with the group as they prepare pies together. Joe cuts the excess dough off the rim of a pan.

DALE
That's perfect, Joe.

KRISTEN
Nobody 'doughs' it better.

Joe holds the prepared pan out to Kristen.

JOE
Kristen, could you fill me up?
I'm an empty shell of a man.

They all LAUGH together as Ashley comes in. She stands there for a beat, watching them laugh, then:

ASHLEY
Joe?

They all turn to see her.

ASHLEY
I've been waiting twenty minutes.
(off his look)
We're wind surfing?

JOE
Oh, right. I've been having so
much fun, I lost track of time.
It's like I'm back home.

ASHLEY
Well, you're not. You're with me.
So let's go.

PAM
My, aren't we Little Miss Grump?

JOE
Just let me finish.

KRISTEN
Here, I'll do it.

Kristen reaches for the pie pan just as Joe does.

JOE
I got it.

KRISTEN
I got it.

Their hands touch. Neither of them pulls away.

JOE
Oops.

KRISTEN
Oops.

They both LAUGH; seem to be having a little too much fun.

ANGLE: ASHLEY

Who watches this intimate moment with concern.

ASHLEY
Joe?

JOE
Right.

He reluctantly leaves with her.
