A work session was a very good idea for this project. When I read for the role of PAUL last week, I didn't have time to prepare the third of the three scenes. It would seem foolish to jump right to the Studio Test without running through the scene at least once with the folks on the ground floor.
So I performed the first and second scenes again as a refresher. They were pretty solid. The third scene was a little trickier. The reason I felt OK not preparing it for the original audition is that it doesn't really showcase Paul very well. The first three pages are one-line questions while the other characters have little speeches. Boo. The writers and director gave me the note to be more baffled by the whole thing, basically, and that seemed to carry the scene well enough.
Studio Test in about one hour...
