overall rating / overall share / 18-49 year-olds rating

Yes, Norm has found it's level. They are going to retain about 80-85 percent of Drew's audience and that will be fine with ABC for the rest of the year. It's not as exciting as having a potential break-out hit show on the air there, but it will generate enough money to make ABC happy.
The real focus this week is on It's Like You Know. Both last night's ratings and tonight's are deciding our future. Of the three shows battling for the one time slot, all three scored a 6.4 /10 overall rating and share. That's almost a little freaky. It's Like You Know did a pretty good job holding onto their lead-in audience. They had a 90% overall retention and a 94% in the demo. Impressive, actually. Most prognosticators had written Its Like You Know off as having the weakest shot of the three of getting picked up, but with a showing like that, you can't write them off yet. The one thing I don't understand is how they are going to decide to keep/cancel the show on the 15th when it won't have aired again yet. This was the last episode before the decision deadline. Now what's going to happen?
I still believe it comes down to us vs. Sports Night. And I
don't even think that is much of a battle. We are on life support and
would need a miracle at this point to save the show. But as one of
our writers Rick Nyholm told me the other night, "It's Christmas
time, John. It's the season of miracles." God bless us, everyone.
Industry analysis...
December 15, 1999
"FOX walked off with Wednesday honors in the 18-49 category thanks to the Billboard Music Awards, which beat its year-ago Monday teen rating by 38%. The award show was the week's highest-rated telecast among teens. CBS led the night in homes with its second-highest-rated Wednesday pic this season, A Holiday Romance. It's Like You Know joined the Wednesday sked and retained a solid 94% of its 18-49 lead-in, down from the 96% average of predecessor Norm."

"In all, it was a typical December doldrums week of depressed viewing levels and a schedule dominated by holiday specials and regular series reruns. The Billboard Music Awards gave FOX a Wednesday bounce. FOX noted that the award show's teen demo numbers were up 38% over last year."
