Johnny Dickshot, a former outfielder with the Pirates, Giants and White Sox, died Nov. 4 in Waukegan, Ill. He was 87. Dickshot played with the Pirates from 1936-38, then played a single season with the Giants before returning to the minors. After hitting .352 for Hollywood in the Pacific Coast League in 1943, he returned to the majors in 1944 with the White Sox. His finest season came the following year, his final year in the majors, when he batted .302 in 130 games, with 74 runs scored and 58 RBI. Cindy and Mike Logue, and his son, John Dickshot.
He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren: Bridget, Mike, Julie,
and Steve Kennedy, Anne, Ellen, John, and Mary Ducey, Julie, Scott,
Michelle, and Jennifer Logue, Kahealani Kamakaiwi, and Melissa Myrick.
He is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Megan and Katie
Kennedy, and Ryan and Brooke (Logue) Benham.
