2000 Football Pool Weekly Update

Week Ten

"People in China slaughter bears and use their gall bladders as aphrodisiacs. Strange. Speaking of slaughtered Bears... Indianapolis." --Young

There was no slaughter of Bears in America this Sunday. Nor was there a slaughter of Cardinals. Nor Panthers. It was a good day for wildlife. It was a bad day to be a color, though. The biggest pick was the a nice easy win for the Giants. They stomped the Brown right out of Cleveland.

"Since everyone's a Giants fan this week, I'll take Indy to block." --Victory (RIP)

It was a defeat for Victory who was blocked right out of the pool. But there was oh so much death this week. The Redskins scalped Barley, Dresden, Johnson, Kleiner, Manoux~Jo, Saiet, and another of last year's Champs, Sullivan~N. The Colts trampled Duguay, Kennedy, Rudofsky~G, the Speicher Family, Victory, and Zelman~A. And the Rams rammed Clark, Goldstein, Jensen~S, Kramer, and Rice~G right into an early grave.

"I am now glad that we stole the lands of the Indians and put them on the reservations if they can't play football any better than that." --Barley (RIP)

 Now, now. No need to get ugly. And speaking of ugly, The leader board has dwindled to three, and for the first time this year, the number of dead is the largest category. It looks a little something like this:

There will be no fourth loss for Barley until the Texans go down at the hands of the Browns some time next season. As far as this season goes, though, we have ourselves a Week Eleven. 79 people left.
