2000 Football Pool Weekly Update
Week Fifteen

Another week in the 2000 Football Pool, and again no major calamities. It's just a slow burn, a quiet trickle. Like everyone's favorite action star, Chris O'Donnell, fighting to stay alive, the mountain is slowly but surely draining the life from this Football Pool. We're all over the Vertical Limit. We're all dying. Dig your ice picks in. Storm clouds are gathering.
"Give me the scalpers this weekend down in Dallas. I'm eager to see what team you come up with, you could cement your path to the title but I say you're going down." --Jenks (RIP)
You know how this works. Insert a quip here about Jenks being scalped. Make a comment about the dead talking tough from the grave. Segue into the teams that lost: Washington, San Francisco, Miami. Say sad things while really being happy they're gone. Count up the number of incorrect picks: 7.

And here's the little additional note: There were 7 incorrect picks and 1 no pick. ONE NO PICK!! Is it just me or is that unbelievable? After four months of nail-biting football, with $1300 on the line, someone just up and forgets to put a pick in? As a result, Abrams joins the ranks of the dead, which also include DeRosa, Gonzalez, Jenks, King, Rudofsky~Ju, and VanZandt~L.

Week 16 approaches. Two players have already guaranteed playoff berths: Rudofsky~Ja and Ducey~Jo. Remember, as long as you are still alive at the end of the season you will advance to the playoffs. New picking rules and strategies will apply. But we'll cross that rope bridge when we come to it.
